Day Three

Hey Everybody,
I haven’t blogged in so long, but here I am!  So much has happened in the last few months!  The family is doing great & we are so blessed!  We just got home from Dollywood last night and spent a few hours at the church Easter Egg Hunt.  O to be a kid again.  Speaking of kids, ours are great!  Javon is seven!  I can’t believe how grown up he is.  Savannah is a doll baby and very outspoken (not sure where she gets it from :-) ).  Today is the three year anniversary of Savannah’s adoption (4/4/07) and I thank God everyday for the gift that He gave us!  Michael is like a whirlwind.  Just thinking about keeping up with him makes me tired.  How blessed I am to have these three amazing kids in my life!

I’ve been singing a lot lately!  Not only am I singing solo dates and leading worship at revivals, but I’m singing with a group now!!!  Bobby Rhymer, David Stockton & I have been together since August 2009 and we are excited about what God is doing in our lives.  True Love is our trios name and we are believing God to reveal His TRUE LOVE to our audiences as we sing and minister.  We hope to have our website up really soon!!!!  Keep checking the blog for the announcement and an updated schedule.  We will be at SGM Fan Fair in Pigeon Forge, TN on May 3 – 8, 2010.  We would love to meet you there!

Enough about us….

Have you heard the news?

JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED YESTERDAY AT CALVARY!!!  He was beaten, mocked, spat upon, a crown of thorns was driven into his head, he was given vinegar to drink and nailed to a rugged cross by his hands and feet, TORTURED and then he died!  His body was then placed in a borrowed tomb.

But, (3 days later) there’s more…

Early in the morning Mary Magdalen and Mary (James’ mother) were going to see the tomb and bring spices to anoint Jesus’ body.  When they arrived behold an angel of the Lord was there & Jesus’ body was GONE!!  (Matthew 28: 5-6) “Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”

HE IS RISEN!!!

At some point in your day today, pause for a few moments and ponder that first Easter weekend some 2000 years ago…

Friday was the darkest day!  Jesus, the very one that was praised and sought after just a few days before, the sinless, perfect Jesus, was crucified!  To his followers, it seemed all their hope was gone!  Yet, even as they were grieving, Jesus was busy at work!  While they were mourning, he was visiting Satan… and during that visit he took the keys to death, hell & the grave!  Close your eyes and imagine you are Mary Magdalen… you are walking the path to his grave, but instead of a sealed tomb, you find the stone rolled away and an angel sitting atop the stone!  She gives you the message, “He’s not here!  He is risen, as he said!”  His body is gone and his grave clothes are folded in the place where he lay.  Can you imagine the fear, the excitement, the joy that such a miracle would bring???  You run to tell his disciples that he is risen!  And along the way you see Jesus for yourself.  He tells you to meet him in Galilee.  Can you imagine?  48 hours earlier you watched him be crucified, you saw them place him in the tomb and now he’s standing in front of you and you’re having a conversation!

WOW!!!

I am so thankful that HE IS RISEN!  Christians are so blessed… we serve a LIVING GOD!  He’s not a blob of cement or a gold plated statue!  He’s the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!  He’s the Alpha and Omega!  The Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley… He’s ALIVE!

Do you know this RISEN Savior?  Is he YOUR personal Savior?  He loved you so much that he was willing to leave heaven and come to earth.  His only mission was CALVARY!  He knew he would be crucified before he was ever born into this world.  He knew that his death was the only way for us to be saved from HELL!  Don’t wait another day… if you don’t know Jesus, choose him today!  He’s standing there with his arms open wide, waiting to welcome you into his family!

Enjoy your day with your family & friends… but don’t forget the sacrifice that was made for your salvation… where the timbers crossed!

I pray your Easter is blessed!

Jennifer
